Abstract

The educational process must be linked to the actions of the heritage for its critical understanding, aiming at social insertion. The article is the result of a theoretical-practical research made through an interdisciplinary exercise between the fields of education and heritage. The aim was to analyze the dynamic relationship between these sectors based on the experience of the workshop "Shelter of Memories" of IPHAN and held in the city of Ouro Preto (MG), world heritage site. The methodology used was based on the participatory method of intervention research in the realization of the workshop "Shelter of Memories", with students from a third-year class of elementary school. The shared experience between scientific research and its social praxis made it possible to understand that the plurality of spaces and the experiences of the participants can compose efficient strategies in the articulation between education and heritage. It is concluded that the workshop provided affective exchanges between those involved in the practice, contributing to the understanding of cultural diversity in the construction of the relationship between education and heritage.
