Abstract

The text analyzes the fundamental aspects of the Baroque in the architecture and interior decoration of the churches built in Brazil between 1680 and 1750 approximately. In the first part, the architectural aspects proper in the plans, elevations and articulations of the internal spaces are introduced. Then, specific aspects of the Baroque in the internal decorations are analyzed, including carving, painting and tiles.
