Culture in transit: intangible heritage, memory and space

Abstract

This article proposes a cross-sectional analysis of the intangible heritage issue, according to its relationship with the spacial, cultural and identitary substrates in the current global context. Context notably marked by the celerity of human displacements, diasporic flows and new communications technologies. Territory, space, place and community are configured, therefore, as levels of the same identitary building responsible for meaning, reframing, maintenance and transmission of this heritage.
