Abstract

This report aims to present some reflections concerning the challenges faced in the preservation of the collection of costumes from the Galpão Theatre Group. Founded more than 30 years ago, the theater company has become a reference for the history and research in Performing Arts in the city of Belo Horizonte. Consequently, the Group constituted an axis of cultural projects dedicated to the preservation of the company's memory, also open to the preservation efforts of the contemporary theater memory. From this initiative, it was possible to list some of the impasses that involve the management of costumes collections that, in national scope, require further discussion and methodological definitions.
