Comunicação e informação de museus na Internet e o visitante virtual

Resumo

Análise das transformações na relação museu e público, a partir das novas tecnologias, considerando os museus como sistemas de informação e o quanto a Internet contribui para a formação de um público virtual, para expandir a visitação in loco às exposições e aos demais setores de informação do museu, de forma integrada. Baseado na tese de doutorado em Ciência da Informação, a metodologia compreende o Museu Histórico Nacional do Rio de Janeiro - MHN como ambiente de estudo, o quadro teórico com autores da Ciência da Informação, da Museologia e da Comunicação e a pesquisa empírica, desenvolvida em duas etapas: análise das mensagens do correio eletrônico de visitantes virtuais do MHN para caracterizar o seu perfil e principais demandas de informação; verificação, com base em entrevistas via Internet, do comportamento e da relação entre público presencial e virtual de museu. Museum communication and information on the Internet and the virtual visitor ABSTRACT Analysis of the transformations in the relation museum and public, since the new technologies, considering museums as information systems and how much the Internet/Web contributes for the formation of a virtual public, to expand the visitation in loco to the exhibitions and to the other sectors of information in the museum, in an integrated way. Based on the doctoral thesis on Information Science, the methodology comprises the National History Museum in Rio de Janeiro - MHN as study case, the theoretical frame with authors of the Information Science, Museology and Communication fields and the empirical research, developed in two stages: analysis of the messages of electronic mail from MHN virtual visitors to characterize their profile and main information demands; based on interviews through the Internet, verification of the behavior and the relation between museum physical and virtual public.
