Resumo

Um dos paradigmas levantados com o alvorecer da arte contemporânea é a concepção do que deve ser considerada obra de arte ou objeto artístico. Diante uma perspectiva teórica - já superada- da História da Arte, podemos considerar como objeto artístico ou obra artística toda aquela produção estética com fins reflexivos ou não expostos em um museu. O questionamento central desse texto será justamente a concepção de museu, espaço de exposição e arte extra museológica. Como a relação com essas modalidades definem se arte é pública ou para o público. Tentaremos discutir e trazer à tona os processos de formação do museu de arte moderna e contemporânea, desde sua utilidade como registro documental da história ou ainda como divulgador de novas tendências que surgem. Um dos pontos altos desse texto trará uma análise parcial sobre os lugares de exposição.
